“Facts Are Stubborn Things”

“Here are startling facts that will both shock and surprise many of our fellow citizens. Thanks to a UCONN economic study, all the people of Connecticut now will know the truth:

o “Connecticut has fewer jobs now than in 1988.”

That means we in Connecticut have lived "a generation without job creation". That’s bad truth for all incumbents? It means the citizens of Connecticut now know that this is the result of ineffective representation by incumbents among the CT Delegation to Washington - as well as State Legislative majority in Hartford, who persistently have put their own interests and politics-as-usual ahead of the people’s interests.

Obviously, my opponent, Incumbent DeLauro has failed the citizens of the 3rd Congressional District. Equally obvious - given her seniority among the CT Delegation to the US House - she has also let down all the people of Connecticut outside the 3rd District.

After all, thoughtful citizens can only conclude that Incumbent DeLauro, as Deaconess of the CT Delegation to US House, was either a very poor role-model; or, conveyed to them a perverse politics-first attitude that dominated her thinking and private guidance to delegation disciples Courtney, Himes, Larson, and Murphy.

I look forward to hearing Incumbent DeLauro responses to questions from the people she has so notoriously let-down over the years. And, I cordially invite each of the other members of the current US House delegation to join Incumbent DeLauro and me in public forum so each Incumbent will have the opportunity to assist fellow Incumbent DeLauro in responding to questions from the people of Connecticut whose interests they have so poorly served. Of course,

I would be remiss to not remind all of the current Incumbents: DeLauro, Larson, Courtney, Himes and Murphy of the wisdom of Founder John Adams that “Facts are stubborn things… they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence” disclosed in the economics study.

ObamaCare Erodes Freedom

Wayne Winsley, Candidate for the U.S. Congress representing the Citizens of Connecticut’s Third District, released the following statement in anticipation of the U.S. Supreme Court decision on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), informally known as “Obama-care”. “The upcoming decision by the United States Supreme Court is crucial, not just for the state of health care in America; but, crucial to very principle of individual freedom. Remember how Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) put it when asked what was in the original health care legislation? Madam Pelosi said “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy.” Now, imagine if the incumbent Obama administration were attempting to mandate that all citizens had to purchase a certain vehicle; then, the dangers – indeed the attack of individual freedom - would be more apparent. The irony here is that the former -- Obama-care -- would open the door to the latter -- loss of freedom --with almost no way to close the yawning aperture. No legislation, ever, should be taken to a vote until the people’s representatives – and the citizens themselves - have had sufficient time to review and understand the content and implications of any proposal. Truly, the fate of our Constitutional Republic - as given to us by the founding fathers - hangs in the balance. Let’s pray that every Justice on the U.S. Supreme Court keeps in mind and heart the immortal words of Benjamin Franklin in response to the question ‘what kind of government do we have?’… “A Republic madam; if you can keep it.” To speak directly with Wayne Winsley, schedule a media interview, or to schedule a visit with your group, organization or association, contact him directly by phone at 860-248-0324 or via email wayne@winsleyforcongress.org .

This Memorial Day

Today America faces many tough challenges. But as in the past, we have the ability to meet and overcome these challenges with the full ingenuity and creativity of a free people. We have that ability, that freedom of choice only because of the selfless and courageous sacrifices of our fellow Americans who have donned the uniforms of our armed forces. Throughout this nation’s great history, from Bunker Hill to Bien Hoa, from Chancellorsville to Tora Bora, brave men and women have gone into battle on our behalf and given their lives to purchase and secure for us that most precious gift, freedom. This Memorial Day and every day, let us remember that, we remain the land of the free, only because of the many sacrifices of the brave. And let us further honor their sacrifices by remaining vigilant and strong, so that the promise of America may long endure. “Let us now praise famous men . . . All these were honored in their generation, and were the glory of their times. Their bodies are buried in peace; but their name liveth for evermore.”

The Real Battle of Connecticut

While the attention is focused on the fight between former Wrestling mogul Linda McMahon and the former Congressman Christopher Shays over the right to vie for the open Senate seat, the real battle will be waged over Connecticut’s third congressional seat. Wayne Winsley vs. Rosa DeLauro. Can the young gun who came out of nowhere -- and got the entire CTGOP convention on their feet, clapping, screaming, and ringing bells -- really unseat the entrenched and untouchable incumbent? In this modern retelling of David and Goliath, can Wayne Winsley really take down Rosa DeLauro and cause her Philistine army of liberal special interests, big corporate lobbyists, and union thugs to break and run? Let’s not fool ourselves, folks. This one has all the ingredients of a good ole fashioned slobber-knocker. In one corner, we have a fiery young black conservative with charisma to burn, who wants to join hands with every man or woman who has ever dreamed of achieving something great. In the other corner, we have a cagey, flamboyant, liberal demagogue who is as much a genius at pulling heart-strings as she is at spending others’ money and flippantly wasting our nation’s resources. Oh yes. It’s Big Government vs. Individual Freedom. The Wealthy Inside Trader vs. the Everyman. The Out-of-Touch Incumbent vs. the New Visionary. It may not be Ali vs. Frazier, but it just might be the biggest battle since Hillary vs. Barack! And the answer is; YES we can ALL WIN with WINSLEY!
