U.S. Rep. Richard Neal, D-Mass., and U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro,
D-Conn. stroll down Main Street in the South End of Springfield, just hours
after DeLauro snubbed voters in West Haven by refusing to appear for a debate
and take voter questions. DeLauro drove up from New Haven to campaign for Democrat
Elizabeth Warren.
Incumbent Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro
apparently thinks her re-election is so “in the bag” that not only does she not
have to lower herself to debating her opponent in front of third district
voters, she doesn’t even have to campaign. In fact she can take time to go to
neighboring states and campaign for other candidates.
That is exactly what she is doing. Less than
twenty-four hours after refusing participate in a debate hosted by United
Seniors for America at West Haven City Hall, incumbent DeLauro found time to
stump for fellow Democrat Elizabeth Warren in Springfield Massachusetts.
Well, with a storm on the horizon, at
least we know DeLauro is in the country this year if not the state, and
hopefully she won’t try to phone in her response this time.
For twenty-two long years the citizens
of the 3rd district have been saddled with an arrogant and imperious
queen who believes that the people’s congressional seat is her throne and that
she doesn’t have to be held accountable by her subjects unless she feels like
it.
We
can do better than that.
This
election the citizens of the third district have a real choice.
The
choice is Wayne Winsley for Congress
As
your next representative, I - Wayne Winsley - will work hard to serve the
citizens of the Third Congressional with forthrightness, honor, and integrity
